How to make oat milk: Step by step.
- 1 cup of rolled oats (100 g)
- 3–4 cups of water (750 ml-1 liter)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- 1–2 tablespoons maple syrup or 1-2 Medjool pitted dates (optional)
- A pinch of salt (optional)
Leave the rolled oats in a bowl of water for at least 30 minutes.
Strain the oatmeal and wash it with water.
Put it in a blender or food processor together with the rest of the ingredients and 1 liter of clean water. Beat for about 2 minutes. Let it rest for 1 hour (you can take it immediately, but it is better if you let it rest).

Strain the oat milk through cheesecloth, cloth, or a very fine strainer to separate the liquid from the remaining oat flakes. Strain again 2 or 3 more times to remove the remains completely. It is not essential to strain the milk more than once, but it looks better that way.
Salt is optional, but it enhances the flavor.
