Vision problems are more common than we really think. Every day we demand more from our eyesight and this can lead to health problems in the long run. With this vision test and depending on what number you see, you will have a better idea of the state of your vision.
The most common vision problems are refraction, myopia, farsightedness, astigmatism and presbyopia. Most people have one or more of these diseases. Refractive errors occur when the shape of the eye prevents light from focusing directly on the retina.
Refraction occurs when light changes its direction as it passes through one object to another. Vision occurs when light rays are deflected (refracted) as they pass through the cornea and lens. This light is then focused on the retina. The retina transforms light into electrical impulses that are sent to the brain through the optic nerve. The brain interprets these messages, turning them into the images we see.
The most common refractive errors are myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism and presbyopia as we mentioned earlier. Myopia is a disorder in which close objects are seen clearly, while distant objects are blurred.

How should you do the TEST?
Curiously, recently an image went viral on social networks and it is that just by looking at it you can discover what vision problem we have. The challenge is to stare at an image to assess more than just your visual acuity. This image appears to be dotted in black and white and has a four-digit number written on its back. Depending on the visual problem that we present, we will define what number it is.
It is very likely that with the naked eye you cannot see anything. But here we will give you some tips so you can achieve it. To begin, you must look away from your monitor or cell phone screen for a few seconds. Relax and sharpen your visual sense as there is a series of hidden numbers. The idea is to know what number you see.
Let’s start the TEST:
The numbering is as follows:
3246: If you perceive this number, it is likely that you have myopia and astigmatism.
3240: If you look at this figure, your vision problem could be astigmatism.
1246: Seeing this number could be a case of myopia.
1240: Excellent. You have healthy eyes and apparently no vision problems.

With myopia, the light is focused in front of the retina instead of on it. Hyperopia on the other hand (also known as hyperopia) is a common type of refractive error, where distant objects can be seen more clearly than nearby ones. However, people experience farsightedness in different ways. Some people may not notice any problems with their vision, especially when they are young.
Astigmatism is a disorder In that the eye does not focus light evenly on the retina, the tissue becomes sensitive to light at the back of the eye. This can make images look blurry or elongated. On the other hand, presbyopia is an age-related condition in which the ability to focus closely becomes more difficult. As the eye ages, the lens can no longer change shape enough to allow the eye to focus on nearby objects clearly.
Blurred vision is the most common symptom of refractive errors. Other symptoms can include:
- Double vision
- Cloudy vision
- Dazzling light or halos around bright lights
- Squint to see
- Visual fatigue
These problems are corrected with glasses, contact lenses or in the most difficult cases through surgery.
You should always remember that there is no correct answer, since the objective of this test of what number do you see, is to take care of your health. Depending on the result you obtain, we advise you to consult an ophthalmologist.

This challenge has been very successful, but it is important to note that the only qualified person who can determine the condition of your eyes is an ophthalmologist. Never forget that these challenges are not conclusive when it comes to your health. They are entertaining and may eventually be effective, but a specialist should always be consulted. Now that you know, do you dare to practice and see how it goes?
